Our Team

Dr. Theresa A. Lee brings more than three decades of dedication to education, combining deep instructional expertise with a steadfast commitment to equity and access. With over 12 years in educational administration, she currently serves as Director of Teaching and Learning at Joseph E. Hill Early Childhood Center (JEH ECC), a role she has held for six years.

Before joining District 65, Dr. Lee served as a change-making leader in some of Chicago’s highest-need PreK–8 schools, where she fostered environments that married rigorous academics with strong social-emotional support. Dr. Lee’s leadership philosophy is anchored in the conviction that every child deserves access to engaging, challenging learning experiences and that education is the most effective lever for advancing equity on a global scale. She champions collaborative decision-making, ensuring that family and community voices inform school priorities, while keeping high-quality instruction at the center of all initiatives.

Her academic credentials include a Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education from Northeastern Illinois University, a Master of Science in Curriculum and Instruction from Northern Illinois University, and a Master of Divinity from Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary. Dr. Lee recently completed her  Doctorate in Urban Education Leadership at the University of Illinois at Chicago, where she deepened her capacity to lead instructional transformation and system-level equity efforts.

Hello My name is Mrs. Joseph, I am the Family and Community Engagement (FACE) Liaison. I’m from Chicago, Illinois. I graduated from John Marshall High School and am currently enrolled at National Louis University (NLU). My favorite foods are pizza, chicken and Potbelly. My favorite treat is apple pie with ice cream and caramel drizzle. My hobbies are shopping and listening to live music with my husband.
